The Greater Princeton Steinway Society will present a musicale by the award-winning pianist Denitsa VanPelt on Sunday, September 17, 2017. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall at Jacobs Music, 2540 Brunswick Pike (U.S. Route 1), Lawrenceville, NJ. A social hour with refreshments and conversation with Dr. VanPelt will follow her performance. Dr. VanPelt is a prizewinner of many national and international competitions.

Founded in 1989, the Steinway Society is dedicated to developing the talent of young piano students. All proceeds from ticket sales help fund scholarship awards for aspiring young pianists. Steinway Society memberships are $50 per individual or $85 per family and include admission to all six musicales. Tickets for individual musicales are $18 for adults or $10 for full-time students, and may be purchased at the Jacobs Music Recital Hall 30 minutes before each program.  For more information, visit www.steinwaysocietyprinceton.org.

The Russian American Connection at Westminster Choir College

Pianist Clipper Erickson will open the Westminster Conservatory 2017-2018 Faculty Recital Series with a performance titled "The Russian American Connection" on Sunday, September 17 at 3 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton.  Admission is free.

The program will include music by Russian and American composers, including Modest Mussorgsky's monumental Pictures at an Exhibition.  Other works include David Finko's Sonata No. 1, which was inspired by the Yiddish Jewish World and its culture, particularly by the Moscow State Jewish Theater and its leading actor Solomon Mikhoels; and Amy Beach's Ballad, Op. 6.  He will also perform Sonata Notturna, composed by Richard Brodhead for Clipper Erickson.
