2026 Princeton Student Film Festival July 29
The 2026 Princeton Student Film Festival will be held Wednesday, July 29, at Princeton Public Library. Screenings will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room, and many of the filmmakers will be in attendance to discuss and answer questions about their films. The event is intended for teen and adult viewers.
The 23rd festival features 10 short works by high school and college students from the Princeton area and throughout the United States and abroad. Genres include animation, dramatic features and documentaries.
“It requires a lot of courage for a creative person to put their work out there for scrutiny, and we are so grateful to these young filmmakers for taking a chance on us,” said Megan McCafferty, youth services library associate and co-chair of the event. “This is my third year as co-chair and I think it was the most challenging yet for choosing a final lineup for the in-person screening. The bar for technical and artistic excellence is high.”
The PSFF Screening Committee also chose 11 Honorable Mentions for this year’s festival. “We highly recommend viewers also watch the Honorable Mentions,” said McCafferty.
The 2026 PSFF Official Selections that will be screened in person are: “Taking the Lead” by Clara Schneider and Ella Kowal; “Muscle Memory” by Reylan Alexis; “Soup” by Ava Azarmi; “Eighty Years at Young’s” by Bryan Zhao; “Anacortes, WA” by Tyler Risco; “St. Augustine’s School for Redeemable Boys” by Judah Esquivel; “alieN Film” by Charles Rosenberg; “SinFin” by Jason Alvarado “my plastic lung” by Nicholas Diodato and “Les Fleurs de Malva” by Anna Lys, Rémy Berlemont, Alice Hamel, Chen-Yun Hu, Ludivine Lebourg, Estelle Martin and Agathe Ribout.
