Capital Singers of Trenton Fall/Winter Schedule

Members of the public are invited to join Capital Singers of Trenton for a diverse and exciting Fall season, with several concerts planned throughout the region.  Those interested in singing with the chorus should report for rehearsal at 3:30 pm on Sunday, September 9th.  Rehearsals are held at Sacred Heart Church, 343 S. Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08608.

 

For those who prefer to listen, the choir will begin its performance season on Friday, September 14th at 7 pm with a Donor Reception.  The musical evening will feature members of the chorus and will be held at Stuart Country Day School in Princeton.  Members of the choir’s auditioned Chorale will perform a concert on Sunday, November 4th at 4pm at St. David Episcopal Church in Cranbury.  The Chorale will also participate in the annual Mill Hill House Tour in Trenton on December 1st.

 

Capital Singers of Trenton’s Winter Songs XII concert, “Songs of the Season,” will be performed on Sunday, December 2nd at Sacred Heart Church in Trenton and again on Friday, January 11th at St. Paul Church in Princeton.  The seasonal concert welcomes families and listeners of all ages to enjoy pieces like “Believe” from the movie The Polar Express and movements from Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living in addition to Wilhousky’s “Carol of the Bells,” “Wolcum Yole!” from Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols, and Dale Warland’s “Huron Carol.”


Artistic Director and Conductor Vinroy D. Brown, Jr. holds degrees in Sacred Music and Music Education from Westminster Choir College.  He also serves as Director of Choral Activities at Morristown High School, Conductor of the Westminster Jubilee Singers at Westminster Choir College, the Director of Music and Worship Arts at the Elmwood United Presbyterian Church in East Orange, and Founder and Artistic Director of the Elmwood Concert Singers.

 

CST serves as the choral voice of the capital region, performing a repertoire of both sacred and secular music.  The chorus strives to promote the art of choral singing, enrich the cultural life of New Jersey, and act as ambassadors for the City of Trenton through concerts, special performances, and community outreach.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.capitalsingers.org or call 609-434-2781.
