Trenton Film Society Presents the 2019 Trenton Film Festival March 28 -31

The Trenton Film Society proudly presents their annual Trenton Film Festival at the Mill Hill Playhouse, Thursday March 28 , through Sunday March 31.


The film festival presents films from France, Iran, Peru, Nepal, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan. The lineup includes genres ranging from narrative, documentary, experimental film, music videos, drama, as well as animated films and more. The selections this year bring together even more diverse and universal stories than ever before. Iranian filmmaker Mehrnoosh Fetrat explores the dynamics of a marriage when one member of a partnership finds success while the other sinks into depression in her narrative film “America”, and will be in attendance at the festival. In “Granny Knows Best”, a documentary short, UK filmmaker Stephen Nielsen combines dating in the digital age along with seasoned advice from his German grandmother with priceless results. Two films will kick off the festival on Thursday March 28 at 6:00, the first short film with featured musicians in attendance, then after a small intermission, a series of global live action short films will be shown starting at 8:15. Showings on Friday March 29 begin at 6:00 with two films, one a short animation, another full length live action followed by a short intermission. At 8:30 two narrative films will be shown, one full length and another short. On Saturday the 29 starting at 11:00AM the majority of films will be shown featuring documentary, narrative, animation and even music videos through the day and into the evening featuring filmmakers in attendance for a number of screenings. Sunday concludes the festival with the first screenings starting at 1:00PM and the closing ceremony at 6:15 Sunday evening. All are welcome to attend.
