Saturday June 22, 2024
6:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Join us for a talk with Susan Seidelman about her new memoir, "Desperately Seeking Something." We'll screen one of Susan's films and a Q&A will follow, along with a post screening reception and book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event. Her memoire "Desperately Seeking Something", is the funny and insightful first-person story of the trailblazing movie director of the 80s and 90s whose fearless punk drama, “Smithereens” became the first American indie film to compete at Cannes, and smash hit "Desperately Seeking Susan" led to a four-decade career in film.

We will start the evening with a screening of “Smithereens”, the story of wild teen Wren (Susan Berman) who trades New Jersey for New York City, where she hopes to join what's left of the punk rock culture.
