Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Kids Concert, Princeton University Concerts
1 and 3pm Princeton University Concerts ("PUC") welcomes The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center ("CMS") back to Princeton for the first family program of the 2024-25 season— "CMS Kids: Tuneful Travels," curated for kids ages 3-6 and their families. Performances will take place on Saturday, October 19 at 1PM and 3PM in the Lee Rehearsal Room at the Lewis Arts Complex. Host Rami Vamos and the professional musicians of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will guide audiences through a magical journey where music for piano, violin, and bassoon becomes a vibrant expression of joy and movement. Audiences will experience music ranging from the gentle sway of slow melodies to the lively rhythm of fast tunes. This inclusive concert experience is adapted for neurodiverse audiences, including children with autism or other special needs. The performance is presented in a judgment-free environment, and is less formal and more supportive of sensory, communication, movement, and learning needs. Tickets for Princeton University Concerts' family programs go quickly and are only $5 for children and $10 for adults. Tickets are available at puc.princeton.edu, or by phone at 609-258-9220 (Mon-Fri, 11AM-4PM). Discounted tickets are available to members of the Admit All ticket access program; adults can attend for $5 and bring up to four children for free. Beethoven's Triple Concerto, Princeton Symphony Orchestra
The PSO draws from its own talented roster, highlighting concertmaster Basia Danilow and principal cellist Alistair MacRae joined by pianist Steven Beck in Beethoven’s “Triple” Concerto. 2023 Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Michael Abels, well known for his film scores, takes inspiration from Vivaldi for his More Seasons. Prokofiev’s first symphony channels the classical style and bears the hallmarks of the composer’s unmistakable voice.
