Art of Hip Hop at Arts Council of Princeton
When addressing the beloved genre and culture that was birthed from African-American oppression, it must be noted that it was founded on these 5 pillars that must be upheld and maintained: DJing, B-boying/Breaking, Graffiti, MCing (Writing), and the Knowledge. Join us for an evening to discuss and demonstrate the ART OF Hip Hop with focus on MCing and the Knowledge. For your presenter, we bring to you Slim da Wit, an artist from Brick City (a.k.a; Newark, NJ), to take us through the process leading up to the artistic expression before it hits radios and streaming services. We ask that you come with a curious mind and maybe a pen as Slim helps you to understand the Hip to the Hop, and to see if you have some bars in you wanting to be expressed, either on paper or to the audience. This event is being offered in collaboration with Awujo Consulting.
