Independence Day at Washington Crossing Park

Celebrate 250 years of American Independence at WCHP on Saturday, July 4, with an exciting evening of living history, music, and fireworks along the Delaware River. From 4:00–8:00 PM, visitors can experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the American Revolution by exploring a military encampment, watching traditional craft demonstrations, hearing readings of the Declaration of Independence, and witnessing musket and artillery demonstrations. Admission to the Living History Program is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 5–11, or $30 for a family of up to two adults and two children.

One of the most anticipated additions to this year's celebration is the arrival of the new Durham boat replica. Guests will have their first opportunity to see the boat on-site and learn about the project from Dave Dormand, Director of the Seaport Boat Shop at the Independence Seaport Museum. They will also discover the role Durham boats played in Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware, the history of the Durham Boat Project, and the craftsmanship involved in recreating this iconic Revolutionary War vessel.

Beginning at 8:00 PM, visitors are invited to enjoy a free waterfront concert featuring Bucks County jazz pianist Keith Chasin, known for his energetic blend of jazz, fusion, and funk. Following the concert, the evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over the Delaware River at approximately 9:15 PM. No admission or registration is required for the concert or fireworks. Our Independence Day Celebration has welcomed generations of visitors, and in 2026, that tradition continues on America's 250th birthday. Bring your family, invite your friends, and join us for an unforgettable evening featuring expanded programming, special activities, and a once-in-a-generation commemoration.
