Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra's Senior Ensembles Spring Concert
Where: Richardson Auditorium, Princeton University Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ 08540 GPYO's Senior Ensembles (Flute Ensemble, Concert Orchestra, and Symphonic Orchestra) will take the stage at Richardson Auditorium on June 7, 2026 at 3:00 PM. The performance will feature the winner of the 2026 Matteo Giammario Concerto Competition, Advithi S., in Mozart's Violin Concerto No.3, alongside works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and John Philip Sousa. Also on hand, a special presentation. We expect a strong audience; early ticket reservations are encouraged.

Patrice Nganang writes about his vibrant, animated youth in Cameroon, a period of upheaval and change in the country’s history and in his life. "Scale Boy" is a memoir that brings great brightness and joy to the tumultuous years of discovering oneself and one’s community; though there are moments of danger and confusion in his story, Nganang aims to present a new vision of a young Black African man’s coming-of-age.

Christian McBride & Ursa Major, McCarter Theatre
Christian McBride is an eleven-time GRAMMY-winning bassist, composer, and bandleader. He is the Artistic Director of the historic Newport Jazz Festival, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. McBride is also a respected educator and advocate for youth, and serves as Artistic Director of Jazz House KiDS and the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Summer Sessions. In addition to artistic directing and consistent touring with his ensembles, he hosts NPR’s “Jazz Night in America” and "The Lowdown: Conversations With Christian" on SiriusXM. Whether behind the bass or away from it, Christian McBride is always part of the music. From jazz to R&B, and pop/rock and hip-hop/neo-soul to classical, he is a luminary with one hand ever reaching for new heights, and the other extended in fellowship—and perhaps the hint of a challenge—inviting us to join him.
